With regards to the national authorities decision to allow Mauritanian citizens established overseas to take part in the up coming presidential election scheduled for June 6th,2009,an electoral registration list will be opened for registration at Mauritanian Embassy in Tokyo from February 1st to March 15th ,2009.
This registration list will be open to all Mauritanian citizens who are at lest 18 years old at the time of registration and who are resident in Japan , South Korea , Malaysia or Sultanate Brunei.
Those who are willing to take part in this event , must show up at the Mauritanian Embassy in Tokyo and present an identification card or valid Mauritanian passport.

The registration will be conducted from 9am to 5pm during the week days and on week ends trough appointment.

Conformément à la décision des autorités nationales de faire participer les mauritaniens résidents à l¡Çétranger au scrutin présidentiel du 06 juin 2009,
Un recensement à vocation électorale sera effectué par l¡Çambassade de Mauritanie à Tokyo du 1er février au 15 mars 2009.
Ce recensement est ouvert aux mauritaniens résidents au Japon, en Corée du Sud, en Malaisie et au Sultanat de Brunei, âgés de 18 ans accomplis.
Les intéressés qui le souhaitent doivent se présenter, munis de leurs cartes nationales d¡Çidentité ou d¡Çun passeport mauritanien en cours de validité aux locaux de l¡Çambassade de Mauritanie à Tokyo sis : 5-17-5 Kita-Shinagawa, Shinagawa-Ku, Tokyo 141-0001

Ambassador visits the opening day of Ms. Kato's photo exposition

Mauritanian Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Jaafar visited the opening day of photo exposition of Photographer Ms. Chizuko Kato "La chant des dunes" which had been held from November 18 to 30, 2008 at the Gallery Cosmos in Meguro, and appreciated her works of Mauritanian magnificent nature sceans and many aspects of his country.

Reception on the occasion of President's visit to Japan
|
A welcome reception was held on May 30, 2008 on the occasion of the visit to Japan of the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, H.E. Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi to attend the TICAD IV summit. This reception has been attended by many Mauritanian's Japanese friends including politians, business people, NGOs and so on.

Mauritanian Investment Seminar
|
On the Occasion of the visit to Japan of the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, H.E. Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi, the Embassy co-organized with JETRO an Investment Seminar on May 30 at ANA Intercontinental Tokyo where many participants from Japanese business fields took part. The President opened the seminar with a welcoming speech and the Minister of Economy and Finance, H.E. Mr. Abderrahmane Ould Hamma Vezaz presented a lecture "Mauritanian Investment Oportunities".

Audience with Japan-AU Parliamentary Friendship League
|
The President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, H.E. Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi who visited Japan to participate in the TICAD IV had a meeting with the members of the Mauritania-Japan Parliamentarian Friendship committee led by H.E. Mr. Yoshitaka Murata on May 27, 2008.

Mauritanin President participates in the TICAD IV
|
The President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, H.E. Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi visited Japan to participate in the Forth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IV) which has been held from May 28 to 30, 2008 in Yokohama. On this occasion, the President had a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Yasuo Fukuda.
