Monthly Meeting of the Heads of African Diplomatic Missions

Regular monthly meetinf of the Heads of African Diplomatic Meeting was held on February 16 2006 at the Ambassador's Residence of Mauritania. Mr. Morihiko Hiramatsu, President of Oita OVOP International Exchange Promotion Committee, the Former governor of Oita introduced his "One Village, One Product" campaign which is now one of projects of METI. He stimulated African countries to use this campaign for their development.
Luncheon with MFOA, Aichi AD Hoc Committee report etc were discussed at the meeting.

Contract for the Project for Construction of Classrooms

According to the Grant Aid to Mauritania for the project for Construction of Classrooms for Basic Primary and Secondary Education in the Cities of Nouakchott and Nouadhibou, the contract has been made between the Government of Mauritania and the Kitano Construction. and the Vice President of Kitano and the Ambassador singed on this contract on February 10, 2006 at the Embassy.

Ambassador to Brunei

H.E. Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Jaafar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mauritania to Japan presented his credential letter to His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam and was appointed as the non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei on January 24, 2006.

Ambassador's lecture at Tokyo Ebara Rotary Club
Mauritanian Ambassador to Japan, H.E.Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Jaafar gave a lecture at the General Meeting of Tokyo Ebara Rotary Club on October 12, 2005. He made a 30 minutes of speech about Mauritania, and at the same time, Embassy's cook made a Mauritanian traditional tea for Club's President H.E.Mr. Sumio Hino and all other members to enjoy Mauritanian culture.
